Saim-Hann Waveserpent

Here's my first waveserpent painted - need to redo the black lines on the fins cos they are a bit wonky but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. Went for a saim-hann scheme in the end, got the idea for the white serpents from the back of the 4th edition rulebook which had one with a reversed colour scheme.

  1. Looking really nice, Chris! Only thing I would suggest is bringing out the lines in the armour plates under the serpents. It looks a bit odd going from red plates with black gaps to white plates with white gaps. Otherwise really good looking!

I should be able to finish up my land raider next weekend. Just a couple of details to paint and the weathering to do. I'll post pics.

  2. Cheers mate, good point about the white gaps, do you reckon I should have the gaps the same colour as in the red sections or as a grey tone? I have got a bit distracted from painting my landraider, only so much bleached bone i can paint at a time but hopefully the half-painted version will see action against some more tyranids (different player) tonight. I'm going with 4 Deathwing squads, a landraider crusader, 3 landspeeders and a venerable dread (1750pts). am trying out a fully kitted dw command with heavy flamer in the LRC and see how it does! Looking forward to seeing the pics of your Deathwatch landraider.

  3. Hrm, not sure. I would have thought the same shade as the red areas?

Good luck in your next game - you're getting more warhams in than me at the moment!
