I'm happy going into any objective type of game as with multipul objectives i just have so many troops i hope most list will not be able to kill them all. with capture and control i hope it will be to difficult to get through all my units without tacking heavy losses and i have plenty of units i can push through. With kill points (which is played twice) my saving grace is one of the round is dawn of war and as per new FAQ I can deploy both platoons :). I'm hoping the fact my Heavy weapons will not have to move into position will give me an advantage. the 2nd Kill points is spear head which i think is an OK deployment for me as its better for getting my AV12 pointing in the right direction to prevent side shots.
Having only played imperial guard once, the list looks good.Notice you have no plasma but guess you can torrent terminators with all those lasguns/autocannons/multilasers. The Vendettas are obviously going to be top target priority so how do you plan to play them? If they race forward they are vulnerable but I'm guessing the melta vets are in them so to hang back might be a waste. (the guy I played had vendettas and I ignored them to my cost).
ReplyDeleteVendettas do so much well. they are my random element to my list. if i have 1st turn i might try and load of a melta squad but i think that's unlikely (only for landraiders etc) most of the time the will hang back trying to get side shots (Normally empty) but a lot depends on who has 1st turn and how much ranged anti tank they have.
ReplyDeleteI don't know too much about imperial guard either, but this looks like a nice list. Only things that raised my eyebrows were the missile launcher teams (they are quite expensive (by guard standards) and only get to shoot once, aren't autocannon teams just straight up better (or are you anticipating lots of AV13?)?) and the deckchairing infantry squads (your heavy weapon teams are scoring so do you need these?).
